I am sure you have all received invites to attend a webinar but do you know what a webinar is or what the benefit is to attending, or hosting, a webinar?  Web-based seminars, or webinars, is a presentation or lecture where the presenter can interactively share information with the listeners.  This is great because you can include power point presentations or screen shots of what exactly you are talking about.  Most webinars last one hour with about 10 minutes of Q&A at the end.  Because this is a virtual seminar you can minimize travel costs but you need to ensure that your viewers have access to computers with good capabilities for video.

As a webinar presenter, the benefits are numerous.  You can share a new product or service that your company may be offering or even just do a demonstration of an existing product to make sure your clients know all that you have to offer or even gain a new client or two.  A webinar can be used to get feedback from customers on how to improve your good or service or what changes they would like to see in the next release.  As a presenter you must ensure that you capable of answering any question that may be thrown at you.  If you don’t think you can do that make sure you have somebody with you that can.  The last thing you want to do is make you and/or your company seem incompetent.

As an attendee of a webinar you can learn what new product offerings are being released by your business partners or maybe you are in the process of replacing software, you can listen to multiple webinars from different companies and learn which one(s) meet the needs of your company best before scheduling a demonstration.  Maybe you have some constructive criticism to share with your business partner, this may be a great tool to do just that or even learn how to something specific that you currently cannot figure out yourself.  Also, sometimes it’s good to get opinions and tricks from some other companies who use the same products which can ultimately increasing your effectiveness.

All in all, webinars are a very inexpensive way to get your message out in the hopes of improving your company or gaining new clients.  There are many webinar based programs available and it is best to investigate which one will meet your needs the best before embarking on the world of webinars.
