What Marketing Means to Us

Marketing means many things to many people. For some, marketing means advertising and to others it means sales. For us, it’s simply helping bring in more profits to your organization – whether you are a startup, private, public, or non-profit we’re all seeking success.  Interestingly enough, we are not on the front line like the sales or development teams, instead we help make their jobs easier.  This manifests itself in two ways.  Firstly, after a “pitch”, your sales person needs to have support collateral like a brochure, a website, or a follow-up email.  We help with the key messaging and the branding for these items.  And note that we said “we”.  A marketer is not successful without a healthy partnership with its sales team.  Secondly, believe it or not, a sales person can only do one thing at a time.  Marketing’s role is to supplement and exaggerate that role.  So after a sales person makes contact with a prospect, it’s the marketers job to “stay in touch” through email blasts, newsletters, PR, advertising, etc – depending on the business’s priorities and budgets.

In the end, it’s our job to help relay your message to your target audience in a way that makes sense and is done right.
