Selling in Tough Times

Not easy, is it?  Speaking from experience, there is no magic formula to getting sales in a bear economy.  But there is a recommendation that we at Ani Marketing Service like to make.  It’s called database mining.  It may not be a panacea, but it aligns a few of the right things.

What is database mining?  It is reaching out to your existing list of contacts, on multiple occasions, in a few different forms of communication.  Short term, it identifies if your contacts have a need for your products or services.  Obviously, you generally can’t sell to someone, if he/she doesn’t perceive there’s a need.  And in this economy, even if there is a need, a need without a budget may thwart your sales plans.

This is not a reason to give up!  Database mining also provides another important component of selling, especially for the longer term, which is often forgotten. It’s establishing, re-establishing, and/or building your relationships.  As you go through your database, you will confirm the key decision makers and influencers.  You will also remove contacts who have changed jobs.  And with regular outreach, when these folks have a need and a budget, they will reach out to you.  That’s what sales, business development, and marketing are all about.

How do we know?  Ani Marketing Service produces all sorts of campaigns for our customers, helping increase today’s top line and developing business for the future.  If your sales team can’t be everywhere all the time, use Ani Marketing Service to fill in the gaps.
