Love ‘em or Leave ‘em

Strong personalities – generally people embrace them, walk away from them, or try to shut them down.  But what about encouraging them?  I have a colleague, who was constantly being usurped by a strong team member.  His solution was to ask this person to lead the team.  The results were astounding – the new team leader is blossoming and the team is ahead on all its milestones.

This concept can also be used in branding.  Sometimes you can turn something with a questionable perception into a strong brand identity.  Do you remember the old Avis rental campaign?  When they were always second to Hertz in opinion polls, their advertising slogan was ‘We try harder’.  It worked – I’m not the only one who still remembers it!

What’s your brand identity?  Is it true, clear, and consistent?  If you’re not sure, call me.  I’d love to help increase your brand value.

Hope you have a great St. Patty’s Day!

All my best, Aruna

You now have to decide what ‘image’ you want for your brand. Image means personality. Products, like people, have personalities, and they can make or break them in the market place.
