Identify your passion, drive towards it, and enjoy the results.

I’m passionate about being able to be myself! It’s taken me a long time to get here, and I’m still figuring out the details . But when I’m comfortable about expressing myself, I’m amazed at how opportunities arise. I’ve also been lucky enough to transfer this learning to other situations. So my passion manifests itself when I help other people figure out how to articulate their passion to others. I’m totally energized by this!

Being true to yourself, and communicating that effectively, are two of the most important things you can do both personally and professionally. We have all read books on finding your passion, from Steven Covey and Denis Waitley to Oprah and Martha Stewart, and the overriding message starts with identifying that thing that you have always loved. I see this all the time in real life.

For example, one of my New York City graphic designers visited New Orleans a few months ago, and the energy of the place resonated so strongly with him, that he was inspired to move there to enhance his creativity. He’s moving there this week! It’s a pretty brave move, but it’s a no-brainer for him.

It’s a good reminder to me – we should all have such confidence in the decisions we make. And when you focus on your passion, it’s easy to make those kinds of decisions.

Well that’s it for me. To keep it exciting, though, I’m always open to sharing passions… so please send some good stories of yours… if you’re in the mood!

Wishing you the best,

“Anyone can dabble, but once you’ve made that commitment, your blood has that particular thing in it, and it’s very hard for people to stop you.”
